Victim scene preperation

We filmed a scene exhibiting the more stalker/slasher elements of our trailer by using the basement underneath the school to shoot a victim scene. We wanted the mise-en-scene t play a significant role part in this scene so we used make yp on our actress to make her appear dirty and bruised as though she had been trapped in the basement for a while. We also put rips into her shirt to heighten the idea of her being abused by her captor

Filming News Report - Script

Alicia: On the 2^nd Anniversary of the reformation of our country, we remember those who were lost in the breakdown of our government. There was chaos (cut away), riots (cut away) and violence (cut away), but now we have found our faith. For this, we are thankful. 

(slowly start walking towards Eisen)

Alicia: In other news, there has recently been a series of murders committed and there is not yet any suspect in custody. Currently 4 bodies have been found and there have been reports of 3 further people missing- it is unknown if these events are connected. Here to share his views on these reports is Father Anthony.

Alicia: Father, how important would you say it is for us to keep our faith in these troubled times?

Eisen: In times of darkness, we look to the church to bring people together in the light of God. These vicious crimes are the acts of sinners, but we must remember that it is not our place to condemn them, for when the times comes the Lord Almighty will pass his judgement. 

Alicia: What do you think the public response will be to this sinner once they are found? 

Eisen: I am not a divine being with the ability to prophesise about such things, however I do know this. Our lord said that those without sin may cast the first stone, so I ask…(look into camera)  Have you been to confession this week? 

Alicia: (into camera) Father Anthony leaves us with some powerful words to consider, but that is all we have time for. I’m [name], good night and God bless.

Trailer Ideas

Below are our initial ideas for the trailer. The aim was to write down as many things as we planned to do and then cross things out if the lists becomes to low. This will enable us to have a variety of shots/angles when we will be making our in the near future.

Group Production Logo

This is our group's production logo. The idea behind calling it "Hyde Productions" was that in the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, we are shown that someone can be both a man and a monster, that

there is good and bad within everything. This is something that is portrayed in our plot quite strongly. This idea of good and bad is also reflected in the font of the production logo itself- "HY" is in clean, modern looking font whereas the "DE" is in a rougher, almost more carnal font.

Drafting Stages - Film Magazines

Here are the different drafting stages i went through when creating these products. From the photo shoot i developed the photo in Photo Shop to adjust it and make it fit in with the genre and idea trying to be conveyed. This is represented through the use of black as i thought it suited well with a magazine cover after looking at a few others. The difficulty was that since the character's costume is black, i had to find a way to make it fit and not look weird. By applying the 'outer Glow' effect i was able to do this as the outline of the character was easily visible but not too easily visible to affect the representation. After this, the sell lines were quite easy to create and again, it was done by just following the style of other magazines in this genre. Then its adding the little details that make it seem like a magazine for example, the website at the bottom and the social media icons. The final image is the potential final draft but it could possibly change in the future.
